On Friday September 24, 2021, I also walked around Mason City to view the art sculptures. I wasn’t able to view all of the sculptures because there are close to 70 of them. My goal is to eventually see all of them though. Not being from the area, I had no clue these sculptures even existed. It was amazing to see the size and detail put into all of them. My main thought for seeing most of the sculptures was, “Wow! I have to learn how to weld.”
The “Rock Bass” sculpture had actual rocks in it. Which, I thought was really cool to interpret that into the sculpture. I thought it was a very nice creative touch to it. I could only imagine how much some of these sculptures weigh. I wondered how many hours the artist put into making them. What was their thought process behind them? The imagination these artists have is amazing to see in person. Every sculpture had a quote from the artist explaining the piece in one way or another. All around it was a gorgeous view to see all of them. It really made me think of different ways to use my creativity.
